NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Starting last weekend, a Pennsylvania restaurant put a 15-pound burger on its menu, claiming the largest burger available anywhere.
Dennis Liegey, the owner of Denny's Beer Barrel Pub in Clearfield, 120 northeast of Pittsburgh, said the "Beer Barrel Belly Buster" weighs in with 10 pounds of meat molded into a 20-inch patty on a specially baked, 17-inch bun.
The balance of the weight comes from 25 slices of cheese, a head of lettuce, three tomatoes, two onions, plus copious quantities of mayo, ketchup, relish, mustard, and peppers.
Any two people who can eat it within a three-hour sitting get it for free. For everyone else, it costs $30...

Actually, we really just wonder why non-Americans keep harping about it...

You know, I eat stuff like that sometimes, and I'm not fat!
Of course, I actually do more than sit and watch TV all day...

You eat 15 lb burgers? And don't get Fat??!! :noway :rofl2 :food
jk. Anything edible is fine as long as it is eaten in moderation. But I would not call a 15lb burger moderation.
I went to this all-day breakfast diner once and had an omelette. The thing was freaking huge! I asked the waitress why it was so monsterous and she said it was made with 8 eggs. I wish I knew that before I ordered it. I think these people were trying to kill me. My ration of eggs is eggs per week - that one omelette contained a month's ration of eggs for me :shocking.
With menu items like this, I am not suprised obesity is an epidemic in North America (there are a lot of fat Canadians too).

oh wow i'm so proud of this story getting so much coverage.
this restaurant is in my hometown, walking distance from my parents house and where I grew up. Denny's is certainly a great place to eat, not only for its reputation of burgers, but because their menu is extremely diverse and offers all sorts of meals that all taste good. Go Denny! :thumb

Geez!
...I went to a restaraunt not long ago where I couldn't even finish the side dish...The main was crap anyway :)
I had a friend who went to Texas, and she said watching the other people eat such huge amounts almost made her sick.
I don't eat too much... too lazy to get food. I'm a skinny bugger. But that would not put me off trying to eat that thing if it was a vege-burger...
Actually, we really just wonder why non-Americans keep harping about it...
I read a repot somewhere online that Australians are actually bigger than the US. :What the - I'll see if I can find it, but it might have been a thread here too.
*EDIT* - Found it, and it was a thread here - http://www.3dgameman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31782&highlight=Aussies+Fatter
