As most of the forum members know I'm part Irish. My maternal grandparents came to this country from County Kerry (Killarney), which is located in SW Ireland.

I grew up speaking Irish Gaelic as a second language and I have always loved the music of Ireland.

I have the Celtic Woman 1 and 2 albums and have thoroughly enjoyed them. (Link) (http://www.valley-entertainment.com/Artists/Celtic_Woman_1_and_2/)

Just released from Manhattan Records (http://www.manhattanrecords.com/) is Celtic Woman (2005) (http://www.manhattanrecords.com/cwplayer/) on CD and DVD.

Ed gave me both the CD and the DVD a couple of weeks ago and I highly recommend any or all of these as a change of pace for relaxation or romance. Check out the link to the 2005 version and listen to the samples located in various places on the web sites.

This is for my Snugglebear:

You Raise Me Up (http://www.angelrecords.com/playasx.asp?MediaID=3911) (Click the title for the Windows Media Player version.)

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

You raise me up: To more than I can be.

Sounds excellent! I'll have to check it out. I used to work with a slew of Irish artists and loved the music. ("The Town I Loved So Well" is one of my favorites.) None of them looked that good though... :(
