OH MY GOD!!! Yech!

That list bothers me. Heck, I feed my kids fatty foods (cheeseburgers and french fries are on the list) just so they won't die! All three of my kids are LEAN! I'm eating the same food they eat, and guess what? I'm losing weight! BECAUSE WE GO FOR LONG WALKS, PLAY FOOTBALL AND SOCCER, etc., etc., etc. Fatty foods ARE NOT BAD FOR YOU if you live your life off of the sofa!

There is nothing wrong with French fries. People these days are scared of fat and starch like it was evil or something.

Your body will burn sugar first carbs second and fat last. If you eat just French fries everyday and nothing else you would not gain weight. The real problem is when people drink that soda and over eat large amounts of meat with it. The same Enzymes that digest meat cancel out those that digest potatoes.

A normal burger with a glass of water is not going to hurt you. French fries with cheese and a glass of water are not going to hurt you. Soda by itself is not good for you, but will not hurt you in large amount. It's not until you mix 2 or 3 of these items into one meal that this does.

A diet low in fat, not no fat, because you need some fat is a good thing. Lean meats like fish and chicken with plenty of water is great. One of the bad things today is that most people don't eat any fruits or vegetables. When was the last time you had a banana if it was not with ice-cream served over a ton of chocolate?

I'll give you the real trick to weight loss for most people. Eat about 5 ~ 7 times a day. Try to space them out 2 ~ 4 hours no longer than 5 hours max. Eat small meals the size of your fist in food and nothing more. One meal could be a fat free energy bar or an apple. I normally choose a salad from Wendy's if I can’t eat at home. Drink only good filtered water. Drink as much water as you want and avoid the soda and juices. Gatorade will add calories so avoid unless you are dehydrated from exercise or sick. Eat those meats during the day to avoid setting in the gut over night. I like jogging at night because it’s colder here in Florida and people are not watching me. This helps to burn off any extra weight at night, but during the day also works well to keep your tummy burning if you have a sit down job.

Diet is 80% of the battle of weight. The other 20% is working out to stay active. You don't need to lift weights, just 30min to 1hour of your time 5 days a week. I like to walk for my lunch break for 30min and ride my bike for another 30min each day. This keeps me from turning into a fat tub of lard, but it’s not enough for me to have abs of steal, I’d need to eat even better and workout even more for something like that.

When you feel that hunger like your blood pressure is low. Sometimes just a small piece of cheese or peanut butter with some water is all you need.

How this works is not that you are eating 5 large meals each day. You would gain weight doing that. What you are doing is keeping just enough food in the gut to avoid from being hungry. The body will not reach a point when it needs to crave for food. The craving makes you over eat and put down more food than you can deal with. This extra food goes straight to the jelly around your belly.

Most diets fail because they are tricking the body into using all of one form of food than another. You can eat fat free stuff and gain weight even faster than eating the fat. That sugar will spike your Insulin to kick in and store any fats should they be present. Just like with the Adkins eating meats. This might work for some people. But most of us would only get fatter because we would crave a soda or we would eat large amounts of meats.

It needs to be a life style, not a fastings.

The short and skinny..

1. Fresh Fruits & veggies
2. Lean meats, fish and chicken, beef during the day
3. Small meals, fist size
4. Plenty of water, no soda
5. 30min walks or bikes
6. Avoid eating before bedtime.

And there you have it. That is all the diet plan you will ever need to lose weight.

And don't look at those scales! Talk about putting yourself on a mental ride. Women tend to have this problem more than men month to month with water gains. Did you know that your body can move up or down 10 pounds in a single day because of water weight alone? You might find this to be problem for some people at first drinking only water, but after a few weeks that will stop because your body will adjust and figure out that it no longer needs to hold onto water. You know that feeling when you drink and right after you need to pee? There is no way that water has gone down your pipes that fast. The body is letting that older water go because there in new fresh water.

I agree with you completely. I have lots of people suprised when I let them know that I don't want my kids drinking soda. I always buy fruit juice (real stuff, not the lab-made artifical stuff), because 1) it is better for you and far easier on the body due to simpler sugars, and 2) IT HAS NO CAFFEINE, so the kids will be NORMAL!
And don't look at those scales! Talk about putting yourself on a mental ride.
Again, totally right! I've lost 70 pounds since last August; however, while I could be depressed that I was 220lbs last month, and now I'm 231lbs, well, heck, I gained weight, right? However, my pants don't fit, shirts are baggy on me... you get the point. Less fat, more muscle, and heck, muscle is heavier by volume than fat anyway.

Just me changing from soda to nothing but water made me lose 10 lbs. in two weeks. I ate the same things but drank alot of water. Soda is definately bad for you. I haven't had one in about a month.

Well, just a little bit of info, but all sodas have salt (sodium chloride) in them. Quitting them dropped your sodium intake, and you probably lost mostly water-weight.

Soda is mostly sugar; the major issue with that is that burning the sugar turns off the body's fat-reducers, because your ATP levels are high due to carbohydrate use. The body naturally begins to burn fat (stored or ingested) when ATP falls to ADP, going from aerobic cell function to anerobic. Anerobic cell function generates lactic acid, which serves to trigger higher-level fat enzyme release. So, losing soda may increase your fat-burning potential, but not on the 5lbs a week level.

I'm on a 2000mg or less sodium diet (which is SO HARD to follow) and just switching to that after my heart surgery two years ago caused impressive weight droppage... all water.

If anything we can agree that soda is the worst item. Your body will burn that sugar first before other foods. One soda is about a 30min walk in cals. The type of water that they use in soda can stay in your body for over a week. Then you add the salts and there goes the blood pressure.

When you drink lots of water and no soda your body starts burning those cals and fats right away. On top of that the water flushes out extra fats and makes your skin look better.

Like I said before you can lose 10 pounds of water weight in a single day. If the body does not need it then it lets it go bcause it knows you have more water. Even the water weight matters though because it effects your blood pressure and that's something worth doing in the long run. ;)

How about green tea instead of a coke?

yes about the french fries,

its not the potatoes (as everyone is so scared off), its the oil that kills you. potatoes are actually great in fiber (especially the skin).

places like mcdonalds reuse oil to fry their french fries
and overtime that oil becomes cancerous. study shows that when oil is reused on average about 3 times, they start developing harmful toxins.
