a soft flash helps enourmously!

f stop of about 4.0 or higher, shutter of about 1/20-1/40 to catch as much ambient light as possible, iso of 800-1600, usualy stay at 1600 because high res is not needed so reduction of size you dont notice noise at all really.

this is my rig if you are interested

350D with Battery Grip
580EX Flash w/Lumiquest Pocket bounce, soon to be SoftBox
sigma 20MM f/1.8 lense. with UV Filter and sunhood if its realyl right in spots to protect my stuff.
1GB memory card, about 450 pics at highest res and low compressoin (worst quality for compression)

i resize all pics to 800x600 so it doesnt really matter for me, i crop more than anything.

Hmmm...if you're going to re-size the pics down to 800x600 anyway, you could probably get away with shooting at the medium (2496x1664) size. That would give you more pictures to shoot, if you needed them. (Of course, if you shoot large and at high rez, you could make yourself some posters from the best pics. :devil )

It's nice to see that there are at least some good-looking women up there. One of the shoots you did before had me wondering... :lmao

ahaha, well i got yelled at for taking pics of the "****ty" girls, so i tried to mix it up a bit,

trust me i approach and ask kindly for some shots of the hotties, but some just look disgusted when i ask lol, blow to me on that one.

i have a 1GB card so that gets me liek 450shots, it would take me 2 clubs and all night to fill that, ususlay i get off 200-250. and about 50-70 get up on clubzone.com

Can I offer you some advise here?

If the clubs you're shooting in a dimly lit (I'm talking f/1.8, ISO 1600 and 1/30 don't give you proper exposure) you should try these settings.

F/4-5.6 depending on the DOF you need
ISO 100-200
Shutter speeds of 1/3 second - 1/40 if there is more light (go slower..motion blur adds to the fee)
Enable second curtain flash sync
And what ever you do stay away from the soft box!

Since your flash is always going to be the main source of light in the clubs there is no reason to shoot with high ISO's. Dragging the shutter and using second curtain flash sync will freeze the action and give you ambient light.

Just so you don't think I'm talking out my butt...I shoot 4-5 nights a week in clubs and use the above settings with my 20D, 17-85mm and 580EX. I also use the pocketbouncer.

It looks like most of your shots are posed and you don't make it to the dance floor much which is too bad :food

I don't have any recent shots, but here are some from the summer

Yeah, I agree with you here as well. Soft boxes are good for more lit areas allowing the flash to diffuse and spread over a larger area. Not good for darkly lit areas. High ISO's are a nono as well, only increases grain and noise.
