Indiana State Police say they have captured the 18-year-old man wanted in connection to a Pennsylvania double homicide.

Fourteen-year-old Kara Beth Borden was found with him and is unharmed, police say.

"He's in custody and we have the girl," State Police 1st Sgt. Dave Bursten told reporters Monday afternoon.

Indiana State Police say Ludwig was apprehended about 12:30 p.m. ET Monday after a car he was driving crashed about 35 kilometres west of Indianapolis following a pursuit by police.

Borden had been missing since Sunday morning after her parents were shot dead in their home in Warwick Township, about 96 km west of Philadelphia.

Her boyfriend, David G. Ludwig, was sought on two counts of criminal homicide, one count of reckless endangerment and one count of kidnapping.

Police believe that Borden and her parents had argued about her curfew shortly before the shootings.

"The young girl was out during the night, came home, and her parents confronted her. From what we understand, he (Ludwig) came to the house," Lititz Police Chief William Seace told Associated Press.

A friend of the family, Stephanie Mannon, 16, told AP that Ludwig and Borden had been seeing each other secretly.

"Their parents didn't approve of them being together'' because of the age difference, she said. "It wasn't because he was a shady character, because he wasn't.''

Seace says authorities still don't know whether Borden was abducted following the shootings, or whether she left with Ludwig of her own accord.

Seace told CTV.ca that investigating officers believe she could have been abducted at gunpoint "because of the parents being dead."

"We believe that, but we are not absolutely sure," he said in a telephone interview.

Borden's parents, Michael and Cathryn, both 50, were found dead shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday after the couple's nine-year-old son ran to neighbours for help. They had apparently died of single gunshot wounds to the head. An older daughter also escaped.
