There was a previous thread posted in the forum alluding to a forum member expecting. (The Stork Flies Again (http://www.3dgameman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41329)) Actually there are two forum members expecting.

Ed and I wish to announce that we are expecting twins during the last week of September. It seems that the two of us had a little bit too much fun on my birthday.

I am about 59 – 60 days along and I’m feeling fine. I haven’t had any morning sickness yet. I have gained about four pounds, which according to my OB-GYN is right on target. Ed says that he can see a little bulge starting to show and I have gained a little over an inch in the waist so good things are happening.

When Kim delivered her latest yesterday my dad made the statement that there was no one else in the family expecting so he and my mom would not have to think about any more grand kids for a while. After the ultrasound this morning confirmed that we were indeed having twins we told the entire family at the hospital today while everyone was visiting Kim and Steve and saying hello to Dennis. Needless to say my mom and dad are ecstatic. If all goes well this will be their 15th and 16th grand kids.

We have already been thinking about names. Here’s what we’ve come up with so far:

Male:
1st - Robert Sherman, after each of our paternal grandfathers.
2nd - Barney Edgar III, after Ed

Female:
1st - Katherine Moira, after both our mothers. Moira means bitter, as in a bitterly wanted child. Also, Moira means the star of the sea.
2nd - Gretchen Elise, after my aunt and mom.

Here are the ultrasound results from this morning that confirmed that I was expecting twins.

I don't think the navy has a choice.:)

Brandi reports directly to the CNO. When she told him last week there was a long silence followed by "Are you sure?" :Holy Crap He has said that they will accommodate her in any way she wishes though she is considering resigning her commission and being a full time mom. She still has some time to weigh her options.

Geez... I'm still in shock. Well done, old man!

What a change... career military to full-time mom! Brandi, you have my symphathy... issueing orders to children is like nothing you've ever experienced.

OH MY GOD! :jawsdown This is wonderful news :Thumb Congrats :thumb Please keep up informed along the way. I'll tell Sherry the news, she will be surprised I'm sure.

Seems like everyone around here is having babies :Wink

On the baby topic, we took Elizabeth to the Doc today and all is well. Healthy as can be and at 4 months old she's 13lbs. She was around 6lbs when she was born. Sherry is breast feeding which is extremely challenging but its natures best so she’s trying to keep it up.

Watch out, though. There is a nasty virus cruising around; my wife first heard about it when a friend's child (in Vancouver) ended up in the hospital for a few days. Brianne has it now, and is miserable... high fever, yucky "soupy"-sounding cough, and runny nose. Her older brothers seem to be past the virus' age though, e.g. a day of sniffles and then all better.

Our family doc said that this is a common bug this year, and seems to have it's best success rate with children under 3. Transmits often through day-care, but Brianne stays all day with me or my sister-in-law, so...?

From the last picture of Elizabeth that you posted she looks to be healthy and happy. Sherry must be doing something right.:Thumb

Breast feeding is the absolute best. There are some things in breast milk that just can't be found in formula. Brandi's mom and sister nursed until the babies were 18 months old. Brandi has said she intends to do the same.

She should be back in the forum later. She has had a very busy couple of days and she is taking a nap before we celebrate St. Valentines day tonight. The entire family is taking us out for dinner.:food It's a good thing too, since she has been pregnant Brandi has had a huge appetite.

Who are you kidding? These are Brandi's offspring. It'll take them 10 seconds to realize that they are faster (and probably smarter) than their old man. He should just give up now! :rofl2

I don't know about that. I was smart enough and fast enough to marry their mom. (Or was I so slow she had no problem catching me. :Blah )Let's just hope they get the best of both gene pools.

They'll have my jeans too, they can use them to make a tent.:lmao

UPDATE

Brandi had her first second trimester ultrasound yesterday. She is at 16 weeks and she and the babies are doing wonderfully.

We found out the sexes of the babies also yesterday. We are having a boy and a girl!!! :noway :Wink :luxhello :luxhello :luxhello

I tried to get a picture of Brandi's belly but I was told that if I took the picture I would need an ultrasound of myself to find my camera. :shocking

I think Girl and Boy twins is the dream! Grats!

Only boys here and I don't want anymore kids... One girl would have been nice though.
