We have had a heavy snow day here in northern Iowa. By this afternoon there was between 6" and 10" of snow on the ground. The temperature has been about 10°F to 15°F with strong winds all day. The temperature tonight may go as low as -10°F with wind chills below -20°F.

Here is a picture that was taken near Albert Lea, MN, which is about 30 miles NE of the farm.

Omaha just got the tip of that system... 1 inch of snow, but wind to blow it everywhere, including up your nose.

I hate small snowfall. People still drive nuts and get into wrecks, but at least they have an excuse when there's 6 inches of snow on the roadway.

You know who almost killed my Honda today? Hehehe... a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Ford Escape. 4x4 SUVs with heavy-footed drivers. The Prelude didn't even slip at all today.

Winter has definitely returned. :Sigh

Yeah, My father-in-law said that the only thing between us and the north pole was two barbed wire fences and one of them had blown down.
