My first VR is coming up... suggestions???

Hi Folks,

alright I will be doing my first VR and I talked to Rodney about it in another thread to see if it would be okay and he thinks its a neat idea, its kinda a tribute VR to Rodney as I will be attempting to do a similar layout in the VR even letting my beard grow out for this one ^^, the VR will be on the Mountain Mods U2-UFO Optimax so Im going to be reviewing a lot of Rodneys past case VRs to get an idea of how to do my VR as well as how to write up an article on it.

The VR will have my Logo on the bottom left for my site in it but also will have a 3gm logo on the bottom right to give credit to Rodney and as thanks for letting me make a similar VR to his own. (Rodney if you dont want the 3gm logo in it then let me know and I wont put it in there I will just do some kind of special thanks at the end giving you credit for your help)

Now what Im asking all of you is what else would you like to see in the VR and if it is within my ability, budget and time frame then I will do my best to include it in the VR.

Rodney if you have any advice, I will take all I can get ^^

After I do a VR on this case I plan to do a series of VRs on it when I start modifing the case in my upcoming project build.

So let the ideas, suggestions and words of wisdom and help start flowing. ^^

well the VR will be hosted on my site as well google video and youtube and well if Rodney likes it he is more than welcome to do whatever he likes with it, umm other people will have to ask if they want to do something with it or use it ^^
I dont know if I will break into the VR scene like Rodney, not even sure if he would like the idea ^^ but in anycasze this is more for fun and its main reason is to cover my case build, I think if anything I will do written reviews of products and do VRs on mods and case builds to kinda seperate myself from what Rodney does and have my own style or area, but who knows it all depends on my time as I have school, work, and a social life so my time is pretty tight as it is.

Great idea, but you really should do it your own way and not copy me per say. Although, it's very flattering :o After a while you will find your own on camera grove. It just takes years that's all ;) Wait a sec, I still don't have a grove, oh well :lmao

You mentioned using my logo and name, or crediting/thanking me. I rather you didn't. I know that your intentions are good and but we don't want to get involved in any bitterness later. So as you mentioned, best to stay separate in that respect.

I look forward to your first VR :Thumb When ready you might want to think about starting a thread in the personal member review area and embed the VR.

Also, I'd like to hear about the time and effort you put into the VR. What many people forget when watching a short Video Review is the amount of work involved to pull it off in a professional manner.

okay Rodney I will respect your wishes and do it my own way ^^ but just as some warning some of it may be similar as well your the only role model to kind of go off of on something like this but I will do my very best to be as different as possable ^^ and I will create a thread under the members review section with a written review and the VR.

Also when you mention how much time is involved, I can agree strongly with you, when I make my anime music videos which is taking a song and an anime series and creating a video out of it takes countless hours of searching, reviewing, trying and then trying again, my AMV can take anywhere from a week to 3 months+ depending on the level of detail and effects used all for a video that last anywhere from 3 - 6 minutes >< but its fun and seeing how much the people that view it love it makes it all worth it.

I will try to keep a log of my progress and the issues I ran into as well as maybe a seperate VR to show off my screw ups. ^^

Let me know if there is anything else you would like me to do different or anything you can suggest, also if you like I can send you the VR first to get your okay on it or change anything that you feel shouldnt be there or maybe should be there.

Again the whole purpose of this VR is not to cuase any negetive actions between anyone or take something away from Rodney and that this is something that Im wanting to do becuase I admire what Rodney does and thought it would be fun to try it out myself.

Oh with what you said Rodney, I wont wear the Hello Im Rodney t-shirt ^^ but Im keep the beard for this first VR :taunt then it will be gone for the follow ups on the case build :Wink

Well as I do with my AMVs and what Rodney does with his VRs, Im going to start writing a basic layout script and a rough draft script, I will add or change it as I get more input from what all of you want to see in the VR and info on the product. ^^

Okay, go to http://www.retroblast.com/ and look at those video reviews. Rod and that guy have crossed over I think once, so it's good to see a completely different style which is more based on consumer arcade hardware than Rod's PC focus.

Argh...

AMV is tough. I think I must have at lease thown in about 60+ hours in one of my other one and it's about 3/4 done. Another one is about 1/3 done and I've at lease thrown in about 30 hours.

My earlier AMVs which were done more similar (just fading tran as I didn't have nothing more advance in the program) only took some 20 Hours but they wasn't too great.

It's a quote, from VR300. I dunno how you can miss it. My friend, and I spent about 30 minutes laughing at it when we first heard it. Btw, I like how in your siggy where it says current project: hour before dawn, how it's got that default Photoshop glow. It's really good against the forums' blue.

well I adjusted the glow to have a higher radius and then went with an off white for the glow, I did a color overlay for the lettering to match the forum color. But this is talk for another thread ^^

Right now, quoting from the Johnny5 "I need input....input" so let me know what all of you are interrested in seeing in this VR like camera angles, break downs, ect...

yes lol Rodney mention it like 2 minutes into the VR, and I do remember him saying that I even remember that I posted a comment to that all how much I agreed with him on how long it takes to make a VR ^^
