You cant have a cheap vacation in the falls, its not going to happen..

I spent 4 days in the falls, only drove to one place and that was to get gas at 96 cents a liter at a all service station and I pumped my own gas... I felt like a moron but it gave me time to talk to the clerk..

ok ok, no matter what place I went to eat at, you did not get refills on any of your drinks... $3.75 for a glass of soda & not even 1 refill!

So it is like this every where or just the falls?

Everywhere dude; pumping your own gas sucks. It's like standing there holding a nozzle for a minute.

They pump your gas for you in ohio? I thought that was only Oregon and New Jersey. I don't know why but it feels odd to me to not do it myself.:shifty

Good god..it is good to pump your own gas. Lets you stretch your legs and thwart any lurking thrombosis. The Falls will everything overpriced also. It isn't like that in Vancouver.

The trick is how to actually find a place that will pump the gas for you... those places are getting harder and harder to find.
Around here, the choice for full serve vs self serve doesn't appear to get you anything... I suppose in winter thers a benefit, you stay warm and still pay the same price for gas

Niagara Falls is a bigtime tourist trap. Although $0.96/Liter for gas is just about right (for now) restaurants and attractions are always overpriced there.

In general things cost a little more here than the U.S. but not so out of proportion as the Falls.

Bring a cooler of water and some sandwiches, then fill up the car before you cross the bridge. For tickets and "collectibles", you're on your own.

Forsooth, having to pump your own Petrol! :lmaoIt sounds like a business opportunity. Go to one of the self-serve stations and offer to pump their petrol for $1 a car. With prices like they are, who'd notice the extra dollar? How many cars could a person fill up in an hour?

ok ok next question... I got a handburger with bacon and it came with cda style bacon... Is that normal in Canada or do you have to ask for the strips of bacon?

Handburger? Never heard of those. If you mean a Hamburger....

Depends on where you go. If you go to a Wendy's, McD's or Burger King they serve the same kind of bacon as any place. Harveys does too. You might have gotten lucky to find one of the few that serves back bacon (much better than than the 'Crispy Fat' bacon). You usually get the choice of normal (crispy fat) Bacon or Canadian Back Bacon in those places.

Those are rare though. Most of our burger joints are U.S. owned.

Lol, spoiled people. I can't believe someone is actually making a big deal out of pumping there own gas. Pumping your own gas is so common here. Yes there are places where there's Full Service and they'll pump the gas for you, but the gas is usually a bit more expensive.

This thread is hilarious.

Poor guy, the shock of back bacon and gas pumping must be too much.
