So I took a MIDI composition class 2 summers ago. In that class I did 3 projects and 4 other random things. Since I recently got a G4, I popped in my old ZIP disk and luckily all the data was on there. I took out a MIDI of my first project to see what would happen if I played it as a MIDI. It turned out that all the tracks were piano tracks or GM 0 or 1 basically, so I was like, oh, that sucks. Then I heard it and went, WOW! It's actually even performable from what I hear. Difficult, but doable w/ the proper skill and technique.
