Probably has something to do with the fact that it occured on New Years or around that time period. People act really insane when they're drunk since incidents like this were all over the news yesterday. I believe a welterweight boxer was hit by an SUV in NYC as well, so yeah; bad time to be on the road or near one.

Not quite sure... given the photo I downloaded (again, not sure about it's actual authenticity, but you take what you can get) there was a lot of damage, but several people with handguns could have done it. It wasn't war zone destruction, by any means.
