Hey guys,
Just wondering. Why do people post in dead threads or polls? Like once in a while a poll/thread gets onto the new posts list that has been dead for several years... Sometimes there are 3 or so month old threads and thats "ok" I guess... But if a thread has been dead for 4 years. I think it should RIP and not be voted in.
Its just annoying... you know? To see all these old thread/polls on the New Posts list and click on them and see last reply was from 4 years ago yet its on the list because someone voted in them.
Zeek, can you maybe turn this feature off in the ACP? I never seen this as a problem in any other forum I have been on.
Thanks,

When its contest time, some if not all new users will do whatever it takes to get the required posts even if they have to dig for old threads.
It annoys me whenever I see a thread digger in any forum, no matter if there is a contest going on or not.
Thread diggers are just as bad as spammers because thats all they really do. The Christmas giveaway was a good example of it.

Im not even talking about contest times. But like now.. contest is over.. yet someone brought up the "Are you Bi?" poll by voting in it.

I guess maybe users get trigger happy with posts and get bored. I don know really. Its just wrong and users should know better you know?

i dont know either y ppl do it but i agree it is annoying
esp like new system specs (dont know if it was here or somewhere else that i saw this recently) and i look at the date and realize that was last yr
it also bothers me when ppl dont read the other 10 threads on check my specs, and most of the time half of the parts r the same
and help with an OC and the post right below was the same proc, i realize the board and ram make a difference too but for the most part you can still use it for guideance

I don't mind people bring old posts IF they need to. Although, anything over a year isn't that great. If they need the question answered of something that they searched in a thread but it didn't answer it, they could just post a new thread.
I don't mind people doing it as long as they have a purpose.
