If by "right pictures", you mean the ones with the condoms then I would have to say, "yes." :Thumb

I spent about 10 minutes or so zooming in the picture and I couldn't find any condoms. Maybe I was not seeing thing right but then again you don't see the condoms.

I don't know...where it could be? :What the

Also, my neck is a bit sore from turning my head sideways to look at it...

Actually, in the second picture... If you look to the right of the hard drive you will see a the corner of the paper bent. That paper looks yellow latexy like condoms. :Thumb

Nice desk though. Whats the PCB there? It looks like a video card thats dual layered and longer than the 8800s! Oh, I have that cordless phone. It sucks once its like 4 years old. The LCD on it is starting to die and the reception on it is poor. Hope it will die soon so I can take it apart and take out the wireless module :food

That so far from...err...the paper looks like a Condom? I don't see no resemblance what-so-ever...

And yes, that looks like a video card, although, I'm not suprise those older video card that used ISA & PCI were LONGER then the 8800's.

Here's a older video card picture.

All I can remember was that the card was in a old IBM system I think. I had the heck of a hard time finding drivers (Win2000 had it with the OS) and I couldn't go higher then 1024X768 @ 16-Bit color on 75Hz. Anything higher would decrease refresh rate and lower color.

I remember (barely) seeing those around the house a loooong time ago. That's an old Vesa Local Bus (VL Bus) video card that were popular on the 486 systems shortly before the Pentium came out along with the new kickass PCI bus. Those VL busses were a stop-gap designed to get around the low speed limitations of the 8 MHz ISA bus by offering a direct connection to the 33Mhz system bus. No real arbitration was provided so a flaky video driver could seriously fubar a system. The VL Bus was very privative and used mostly for signaling & data transfer only. The ISA contacts were used more for the power than anything else since the VLB portion did not supply power.

Many was the the VLB-based system that crashed due to a video card that had bad drivers. Thank god these VLB kludges lasted only a few years before PCI became popular.

Still some amazing technology for its time. God how technology evolves fast.

If PCI didn't catch on, we would all be using stacker cases :P

LOL...

Oh my gosh, I though nobody would know exaclty what they are. I should have kept one of those IBM's and load up Windows XP on it...

Yea, toss in a X1300 PCI and try load FEAR on that poor machine, that is if it got pass Windows XP installation :P

Either way, I'm going to ask my teacher If I can go and take one of those cards home...that is if I remember where I put it in the workshop...I think it deserves a nice retirement.

Dude, Radeon X200M or whatever it's called. The mobile graphics card can run FEAR on a laptop w/ a Celeron M, that's what Mike was using, and he wasn't even at the lowest graphics settings!

Wow, (whos mike?) I was running FEAR on my p4 3.2 w/ htt, FX5500 and I have to have the graphics settings at absolute minimum in order for me to play... Otherwise there is annoying lag.

Wow... Integrated laptop graphics are better than your PC's. It was Tivon, Kingdom, Terrin (Mike), and me. You weren't there. Maybe you should update your... Oh yeah, they're nVIDIA graphics, my bad! :P
