I've been attempting to load a couple JPG files as attachments to posts, and am finding myself unable to do so. I get a generic "unable to load file" error with no reason as to why. The files meet the requirements (800x600, way under 1Mb)... what gives?

There has been a few attachment problems during the server switch and attachments don't work. ZEEK, Tivon and Rodney are working on fixing it :)
Until it is up, you can use imageshack or other free image hosting sites.

Good news. Not too concerned about using an alternative, because either my ISP has space I can use, or I can just host it off of my own server. I just prefer to "attach" them because the Cox space and my own are rather temporary (ISP space is limited, so I may accidentally kill it, and the my server is on it's own just a project machine).

Wonderful.
Was there a notice that I just failed to notice? I miss a lot... :lmao

Yeah.. it's killing me, don't want to spend endless hours in photoshop if I don't need to. :Blah

Okay, I found the thread, but it is titled for the change in January, 2006. Okay, I was stumped here, people, because I was looking for a thread referring to the change on July, 2007! I guess I just assumed that the 2006 thread had nothing to do with this new year... :Yea right
Yeah, I know. Leave me alone.

Hey - do we get to attach images directly to posts?
That would totally rock! That way, posts always stay complete, even if someone's image hosting thing goes away.
It would be fine if we could attach JPG or PNG or GIF's, maybe a 50k limit per attachment or something to keep individual file sizes under control?
Would be wicked-spiffy...

Make a reply. Scroll down beyond the text window. See that button that says "Manage Attachments"?
Yeah, that's been there for years.

Wow... apparently, this is a difficult fix. Still isn't working.

What are the file size limits?

What are the file size limits?
1Mb per file. If you click on the button, the pop-up actually has a key at the bottom that shows you all of that.
