Hey,

Just wanted to share with you guys my latest experience with UPS. I am trading my iRiver iHP-120 for 2x WD Caviar RE drives. They buyer shipped them out on the 27th and the UPS tracking site said they would be delivered on July 5th. I checked the tracking site this morning and the status was "Out for delivery." About an hour ago at about 7:30PM a UPS truck stopped in front of my house and delivered it to me. I got my package two (2) days before it was supposed to come. THAT is called service, not this bs that FedEx offers.

Use UPS, boycott FedEx :Thumb.

In my experience, this is what I base my idea's on shipping comanpies off of.

UPS, about 4 packages, 1 delivered to wrong place.
Purolator, about 10 packages, 1 also delivered to wrong place
Fedex, about 5 packages, all arrived to right place.

Not the best history for any of the shipping companies, but on the whole, I found that fedex hasn't delivered to wrong address for me yet, and purolator had the nicest people on the phone when it was delivered to wrong place.

UPS, well I think it wasn't the best day for the person on the phone, but all in all, great service from them too.

Now Canada post is another story, I think i'll stick to shipping companies for anything but a letter.

UPS - perfection
purolator - excellent
TNT - good
FedEx - bad
DHL - dont even think about it.

UPs is the best. i dont really like purolator cuz they only only show up once, and if you miss it you have to go pick it up. since im in school at the time the ups guy usually shows up and my mom isnt always home we miss the delivery very often, so ups is best with 3 showups. (DHL is german, lol)

DHL is best internationally, but in the north american market, they fail miserably, I deal with all these couriers on a daily basis and DHL cant seem to get anything right!!! I call for pick up today, expect the pick up today, BUT THEY SHOW UP TWO DAYS LATER!!!... DHL are pure a$$h***s.

In middle east, europe, south america, asia, (ESPECIALLY) africa, DHL kicks ass.

UPS blows hardcore, they have lost packages and damaged them. With fedex i had no problems. FedEx is really good on del. packages early while UPS like to take there sweet ass time.

Here is my experience about UPS and Fedex.

UPS: They have nice people, and fast delivery, mostly it comes earlier than the estimated arrival time, but over the holidays like christmas, they suck. I got my christmas present 1 week later than when I needed to get it. And also when I bought my computer parts from Newegg.com and it arrived with UPS they just threw the package from like 8 feet away from my door and it almost got damaged. It even had a bunch of holes on the box, and it was damaged. The good thing was that my hardware did not get damaged though. 3.5/5

Fedex: Great service, fast delivery, and they even come up to your door and ring the bell for you and wait for you to pick up the package properly. If you are not at home, they place it in front of your door, or if you need to sign it they come back the next day and see if you are at home, if not you have to pick it up at their postmail. I got all of my prizes that I won so far from Fedex, and I must say that they are the best! 5/5

People act like UPS and Fedex are some sort of "living thing" rather than thousands of people that can have their bad and good days at work.

Exactly.

The only reason I use UPS is that I can send stuff thru them more easily than any other courier. They are a little expensive though - particularly sending to the U.S.

Receiving stuff from them that requires a signature is a pain in the butt though. They have no pickup depots that I can simply pick my goods up from. It ALWAYS has to be delivered to my door at their time. Receiving stuff for me Purolator rules.

ALL couriers require a signature, and also, if you KNOW you wont be at home, you can tell them to drop it of at one of The UPS Stores in your area, and then you can go and pick it up.

I missed an important UPS delivery last month so I called the number on the card and asked if I could pick it up at the depot which is not far from my house. They called back and said I could pick it up after 5:00PM. About 30 min later the UPS truck showed up with my package without warning. Guy said he was in the area so he took a chance I'd be home. Now that's service.

ALL couriers require a signature...

Most do, UPS doesn't unless you pay extra when sending it or you are sending to a business. I always pay the extra for the signature when sending it - that way I am assured that the person I send stuff to actually receives it. I can also keep track of how long the courier is taking if I paid them extra for fast service.

I have had UPS do drop-and-run deliveries at my door on many occasions (usually dropping stuff from an RMA or stuff I bought from TigerDirect). Purolator, FedEx or Canada Post has never done this with me.

You know I have to agree with this 100%... I have dealt with both ups and fedex in the past and you know sometimes it does look like they have their bad days, as well as we do. I have had boxes damaged from UPS and FEDEX, and I have also had perfect deliveries... If you ask me, some people do have thier ups and downs, so do not base all of this on the company but place blame on the people that work their.. Afterall they are the ones handling the package not the FEDEX or UPS logo...

Yes, that is totally right, and I can't argue about that. It is the people who work there, and how they take care of the packages. :)

Yep..

Seems like here, both UPS and FedEX guys are all cool and isn't tossing boxes like hot potato.

One thing to take noticed however; I have determind that the slower shipping method will usually increase the chance and increase the damage on the shippment. It's only natural for it to be out and traveling on shipping longer to have higher chance of damage. Thats why I only order valuble things on 2day shipping. Things that I went Econ shipping was usually pretty marked up and beaten.

Since for me, I use Fedex since UPS shipping is quite expensive. I'm not talking just a few bucks, but around twice to triple more expensive with the same shipping from fedex.
