If you think you've spotted a baby, verify by employing classic sniffing techniques. Baby powder is a dead giveaway.

Flatten the baby before actually beginning the hugging process.

Simply slide paws around baby and prepare for possible close-up.

If a camera is present, you will need to execute the difficult and patented hug, smile, and lean in order to achieve the best photo quality.

Those two seem to be best of friends!

Unfortunately, if my wife and I do have a new one come along in the future, I will not be letting my dog do this at all. He's a clutz as it is, and I don't think he could "hug" a baby without stepping on it or falling on it... :spin

Most babies I've seen need to be hugged while wearing a raincoat. Messy! You don't really have to hold them for the insides to come gooshing out...
