WOW, I just dropped them (2 days ago).
I was tired of NOT getting any of my movies sent to me (specifically in HD formats)

So, I went back to Netflix (my 3rd time now).
And yes, the first three movies they shipped were 2 BDs and 1 HD DVD.

I am keeping my Blockbuster local account.

Yeah, they did entice quite well, with the drop your movies off (from online) to the store, and pick up a new movie that minute.
But they cut that (or at least for me), down to 2 per month.
And the shipping was always horrible for me, Netflix HAS always shipped faster.

Anyhow, they are looking bleak. (read below story)

Well, I can't say I have much sympathy for them. In a competetive market, if you want to keep customers you need to keep them happy.

Yeah I dropped Bluckbuster a few months ago too because where I moved to now has a lot of cheap video rental places around (3 DVDs for $5). A few months after I canceled with Bluckbuster they completely cut off the "drop your movies off (from online) to the store, and pick up a new movie that minute" thing for PR. So I would have dropped them anyway. That was the only benefit keeping me with them.

Now that I have HD DVD I'm probably going back to Netflix too since the video rental stores around here don't carry HD DVDs yet (excluding big expensive chains like Bluckbuster).

I still use blockbuster but mostly I get my movies on my pc.

I was wondering about that.
How good is the quality, for say a projector?
Blown up to 96".

I've run copied DVDs through my projector, and they are fine.
But was wondering if the quality of the compressed movies (like DIVX).?

it all depends on the download you get some are good and some are bad but if its a dvd rip its mostly pretty good.

I still use Blockbuster, I just find it irritating that they dont have HD-DVD/BD for sale or rental in local stores, but who can blame them, the technology is still new.

Im stuck with block buster

There are some movies id like to be rereleased in a BD / HDDVD, hopefully they do create them...

I rarely ever rent DVDs and I don't have HD-DVD nor BluRay, so my local Blockbuster is good enough for those rare occasions.

I used zip.ca for a little while, but wasn't too impressed by the condition of the discs they shipped me. I was amazed they even played they were so dirty.

I'm pretty sure it's been over a year since I've rented a movie; though I'm now watching more of them than I have at any previous point in my life.

Strange (and I used to work in a video store, way back when).
