The title says it all. What would you choose? I'm looking for a new (used) car and I want something with a little grunt. :KICK ASS

Here's a little info about both.

Audi S4

BMW M3

BMW is a little pricier than the Audi, but not by much. I'm looking to score either one of them for ~10K.

M3. M3's pretty nice in terms of performance and looks.
If you get it cleaned up after buing it, it'll look even better.
I never was one for Audi.
Same with BMWs and such; opting more for imports.
But between those 2, I'd choose the M3.

Thanks for the input. ;)

I'm totally torn between the two lol. They're both great cars.

No problem.
Make sure you have the M3 emblem on the fenders! Lol
Those look very unique. I love the way they looked on the older M3s.

I'd also go for the M3, since it is the car I want. :)
They look pretty good once fixed up. Hell . . . even stock looks good.

Between the two, the M3. The motor there is an in-line six cylinder, compared to the Audi's V6, and truth be told an in-line tends to be a bit more efficient and produces more torque due to the cylinder/crankshaft positions... no side-to-side motion, all power strokes identically on the crank.

Both look like decent cars, though.

Yeah, I've heard a lot of good things about the engine put in the M3. The S4 and the M3 are about the same when it comes to speed and accelaration. I'm pondering the reliability of both, though...

Argh, what a spot you put me in :tantrum

They are cars of pure class. Me, as an audi fanboy would get the S4.

However, the 1999-2002 M3 is by far the best shape BMW has ever made (IMO!)

Which is easier to get parts for? With an older car, especially one that has been most likely treated rough, that is a major consideration. If you're torn, get the one you can get repaired. Your fancy new ride will be no better than a Yugo if it spends most of it's time sitting in your driveway waiting on parts.

The M3 is pretty common still so parts wouldn't be hard to get at all.
Not sure about Audi. Even if it's a little newer, it might generally be in the same category as the M3 in terms of parts.
