I partake in multiple forums, 3dgameman.com being my favorite, then followed by Pcflip.com and thirdly Sarcasticgamer.com
Well SarcasticGamer is having a little thing to game for cancer... More or less you get people to sponsor you to play video games for 24 hours. 1$ per hour, and on the day they're doing it I have plans, although gaming for cancer would be fricken sweet and for 24 hours at that... But sadly I can't so the guy asked that atleast I could spread the world so here I am :
Hi, this is Doc from Sarcastic Gamer.
I am writing to ask you to get involved with Extra Life, a 24-hour gaming marathon to raise money and awareness in the fight against pediatric cancer.
Earlier this year I lost a very dear friend. Her name was Tori and she was only 15 when Leukemia claimed her life. In her memory, and in honor of another dear little friend of mine who is still fighting her war, I implore you to stand up and be counted in this battle.
Cancer is the NUMBER ONE cause of non-accidental death in children.
On October 18th, 2008 we'll be playing video games in an insane 24 hour marathon. We're asking each of you to sign up on the special Extra Life website that we have assembled with our partners at Texas Children's Cancer Center.
You can then customize your own personal fund raising page so that you can direct your friends and family members there.
Then try to get at least 4 of those friends or family members to sponsor you at just one dollar per hour (or $24.00 each)
100% of the money goes directly to Texas Children's Cancer Center, one of the largest pediatric cancer and hematology centers on the planet. TxCCC sees children from every corner of the globe and from all 50 states here in the US.
Texas Children's Hospital is a non-profit hospital where every child is given the same innovative, life-saving care regardless of their family's ability to pay.
I am personally counting on you to get involved, whether as a player or as a sponsor. Together we are going to make an enormous impact, and I want you to share in that pride when the totals are announced and the new friendships are forged.
If you have already signed up, THANK YOU.
Here are the links you will need to get involved.
