Well, lets call this a summary of my last few weeks, during which I've been rather absent here.
First off, the right wrist (if you don't know, search this section for a post made by me with the keyword "wrist"; I'd do it for you but I'm on my ultra-portable and multitasking is possible, just not as easy as on a real pc): the doc, after a fitness capabilities examination (FCE), specified a 25 pound lifting limit for my right arm... permanently, meaning I am now officially partially disabled. Kendo, golf, and other hobbies are out of the question for the time being. The remaining pin fragment hasn't migrated from the lunate (wrist bone) so hopefully I won't need another surgery to collect it.
So, as disabled, a job change was needed. First Data wasn't looking too good for job postings, so I said a prayer, and... well, prayers are answered! Officemax called me back within 12 hours of me posting my resume, and my boss offered the job to me two days later, really fast. It's the "technology specialist" position, it is management, pays decently (plus bonuses!), and it's for a brand new store, which I've been helping to set up the last couple weeks. We open thursday! And I don't have a clue how anything works! Oh boy...
Katie is growing like mad, now six weeks old almost.
Er, well, not much else to say... oh, yeah, the settlement with FDR for the injury kind of stalled following the doc's pronouncement and me leaving the company, and no word at all from the doctor who screwed up, so wednesday everything will be going to my lawyers. Blah. In the meantime, can anyone loan me $500 for a couple weeks...? :Yea right
