"What is a LifeGem?
A LifeGem is a certified, high-quality diamond created from the carbon of your loved one as a memorial to their unique life."
This is just so wrong.. You don't even want to know what I was thinking someone would make out of this..hehe:KICKASS

Anyone else suspect that they just have a big bunch of glass pieces that they call "Life gems" and sell those?

for $4000, i would be pretty damn pissed if that was a chunk of glass.... lol.
i would feel kind of creeped out knowing a diamond was made out of my relatives though... eep. :Roll Eyes

LOL.
I've seen it all now, however, $4,000 is a lot cheaper then most funerals to be honest!

maybe so, but still- $4000 to turn your dead relative into a chunk of compressed carbon? :Blah

Yeah, but is this any worse than being made into Frisbees?
By turning the ashes into a gem, it could be mounted in a piece of jewelry that could become a family heirloom. You know, every generation gets a new place on the necklace. Honestly, how many decendants actually visit a grave site, beyond the next of kin? This way they might be remembered longer.

On one hand, it would look good...
...On two hands, it would look even better:KICK ASS !
j/k :)
I don't know how to look at this one. I think it would be nice to be able to have a permanent, lifelong attachment, even after death. It would be interesting to carry your loved one close to you, although a bit creepy.
But can you imagine how distraught you would be if you lost your relative down the sink? That's not something as replacable as a regular gem. Insurance would never cover the loss you would feel :(.

...hmm something's a little weird. How do you know what colour you will be once you are pressed into gem form :)?
