It's that time of year again, when the weather starts getting cooler, and what we arctophiles call "bearmaking season" begins :). So, I thought maybe I'd give you all a look-see into the steps it takes to make a cute, cuddly teddy bear.
Here's a pic of the fake fur on the wrong side of the fabric, where I've traced out all the pattern pieces. You can also see some pattern pieces scattered about :). After this, I'll start cutting out and pinning:

That's awesome! Can't wait for the finished product!

There are around thirty pieces to sew together. There's a long weekend coming up, so pics will get updated real fast :).
The fur is beige, the muzzle will be cream, and I'm thinking blue eyes would be cool.
I've got a few offers at work to make a few bears for people for christmas :).
whoa teddy bear! ;)
btw ever bench joo system orange? :KICKASS
I wanna see what the Radeon9000 does with my 8500 since I gotta replace this thing

For a second there, you had me going. I actually thought you were gonna post pictures of how to go about fabricating a teddy bear. You're not serious tho, right? :KICKASS <Joke>

lol, only a fool would replace his 8500 for a 9000.. (9000 is just basically a cripled 8500, except with advanced shaders, new features like fullstream, and has some stuff from the 9700) still, the 8500 outperforms it in most tests, the 9000 shines in some others, but not as much to actually call it better then the 8500.. read some reviews if you want specific and more detailed information about it..
anyways, back on topic..
making bears eh? thought i had alot of free time on my hands.. :) j/k

if you are a serious hardcore gamer, then don't go for the 9000 if you already have an 8500, trust me.. it's like downgrading..
here are some reviews to show you how the 9000 does..

Nah, I think that might be way tooo girly for you guys. You might start growing pigtails :Wink.
There's such great talent out there in bearmaking, and a lot of the really good ones are from Australia.
Here's an interesting site that makes bears from real fur. Talk about exclusivity :Holy Crap !

Well, my system was used for the 9000 VR. Here's the link if you've not had a chance to watch it yet :):

Talk about fur flying all over the place. I had to get out the lint brush before I could take any pics. What a mess !
I'm not very adept with camera, so my shots are pretty basic, unlike my camera guru GameMan hubby ;).
So here it is...some pieces pinned, some not so you get the idea. Doesn't look like much....yet.
Stay tuned :Wink!

10 more pounds of lint brushed away, and now you can see body parts forming :).
Whew! Still have to sew those arms and head together, tho'.

You know you really don't have to cover up your ulterior motive with this thread. What is this some kind of secret code you're trying to convey to other covert members of this forum? What are you hiding?
Okay, I'm tired of these mind games. Do you have my english-speaking Tahitian half-sister? I don't expect you to tell the truth if you do, and I know you'll say no if you don't, but it would save me a trip to canada if you truly don't and aren't lying, so why not just give her up?
GREAT job on the bears, Sherry!

Hey, Sherry. This place just opened up about 10 miles from here. It doesn't really interest me, but I thought you might enjoy it.

Cute! That looks like a lot of fun for kids and grown ups.
Kind of makes you wonder if the kids aren't a little freaked at first to see a bear with no insides :D! I was mortified to see teddy stuffing when I was a kid...teddy boo-boos needed to be fixed immediately, LoL.
Here's the next pic for you to ogle my work. If you ask me, he looks a little psycho right now (probably just irked because I pinned him to the couch to get him to sit up right :D)!

It's been a while, but today I had a day off to myself. Finally, I can get back to sewing my handmade teddy again!!
So, here is the famous "teddeh bear" as Digi Sin would say, with little more stuffing and two friends (my cute Beanie Babies) so you can get an idea of actual size :)!
The eyes and mouth are fabric, and he still needs joints in the arms, legs, and neck. But at least he's lookin' a bit better now...not so much like a sloth ;).

Reminds me of my Grandma. She worked in a fabric store for years until they closed it down. She was so sad, but later got a job at Wal-Mart running the arts and Kraft’s center. She would make these stuffed cats and one time I tried to purr one and was stuck by a needle!:Holy Crap

It's a hobby, for the most part, but I make an odd buck here and there with them :).
I love the way the fabric molds itself into a cute n' fuzzy critter :D.
This little fellow is on his way to the East Coast of Canada when he's done.
