Here's to all the men and women who put their lives on the line to give us the freedom we enjoy today.

We're so lucky to be in this age. For the most part, things are pretty quiet. It's hard to imagine young men of 16 years of age heading off to war, lives just beginning.
Peace to those who have lost lives and loved ones in war, and peace to those who keep us safe now.

(It is also Veteran's Day in the U.S.)

That's always confused me somehow. The US has Veteran's Day in November, and Memorial Day in May. What is the difference? I guess I should start looking up some US history.

It's celebrated by lots of countries. It originally was to celebrate the end of World War I, but was changed to encompass all veterans. I imagine it's the same elsewhere.
