I've always had an interest in computers...but it's growing even more steadily each day. Thank goodness I got the guy that can answer all my questions in house :beer!

Yeah, My Girl doesn't really like the computer...she doesn't know how fun they can be though, I do know that After I loaned her my calculator in school with all my games on it, she beat a bunch of my high scores and wouldn't give my my nice calculator back...hehe, but yeah, she just doesn't get it yet, I bet I could get her addicted to counterstrike though...

It might be good therapy. If you've been arguing, just go online and blast the hell out of each other. :thumb

I think Rod started this thread with me in mind. :Sigh
Don't get me wrong, My wife *does* like computers. We webcam with my parents a lot, and she loves scrabble and freecell. The sticking point becomes when I spend too much time in front of the screen, and not enough helping her with housework or childcare. I spent most of this weekend consolidating info from three drives to set up a RAID array. She see's absolutely no value in that, though she does respect that it is important to me. I'm sure those of you with kids understand. Kids place more demands than one parent can deal with 24x7 on a continuous basis. It's hardly fair for me to sit on my ass while she keeps our little guy entertained. For that matter, I enjoy my time with him very much. I ususally just need a push to get away from the computer.

Unfortunatly, my significant other doesn't care so much about computers. She just uses her home pc for email and schoolwork, but rarely comes online to chat with me.
I think it would be too frightening if she were into comp's like myself, then there would be too many similarities. I enjoy our many differences, but still our personalities are very similar.
Computers really shouldn't have an effect on one's relationship. How could you factor in love with a machine? If your boy/girl friend is neglecting you because they're playing too much Unreal Tournament, then that's a problem (a big problem). After a full day of working with computers i just want to come home and spend time with my girl. I'm really fortunate she understands my hobby and supports everything i do, as long as it doesn't get in the way of our relationship :)
