Warner Bros. Interactive will release a third chapter in the creepy first-person shooter series F.E.A.R. for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this fall.
F.E.A.R. 3 features the sons of lead character Alma in the single-player and cooperative adventure. Players can choose the role of super soldier Point Man or powerful telekinetic Paxton Fettel in co-op only.
To help improve the story's horror elements, developers at Day 1 Studios have enlisted the aid of Halloween director John Carpenter and 30 Days of Night writer Steve Niles.
The last title in the series, 2009's F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, received mixed critical reviews, averaging a score of 79 on Metacritic.
Readers, looking forward to F.E.A.R. 3?
fear was awesome. fear 2 was not as good. it had some very intelligent 'scary parts' which are an upgrade from the way alma appears etc. but there wasn't enough suspense during the game and it was based too much on combat. I'm hoping that fear3 will be as exciting and intense as fear1.
Fear 2 seemed like console port. I hope Fear 3 will be graphically better than Fear 2.
I liked it, but it wasn't as good as the first one. Still fun and scary.
Fear 2 was horrible on the PC, it was a direct console port. The original was designed for PC and should have remained as a PC only or port from PC to console. The controls on the 2nd one were horrific. The original had a nice sound track and plenty of jumping out of your seat action if you played in a dark room with surround :) Fear 3, put it in the grave where it belongs.
Meh Fear 2 was OK nothing new due to saturation from the horrendous expansions. Hopefully will even more scary than fear 1 and doom 3. Dont expect anything new in terms of shooting though -_- since that genre been saturated by cod, halo and bf.
