The always innovative Google does it again with Gmail phone calls and check out those low rates! Call phones in the US and Canada for free!

"To make a call, just click the Call phone link in Gmail and enter any number or name from your address book.

All calls made from Gmail will display your Google Voice phone number as the outbound caller ID and all international calls will use your Google Voice calling credit and are offered at the same low Google Voice rates. We took great care to make sure that our rates are as low as possible. For those of you not as familiar with international calling rates, check out our comparison table." | More

Looks like Google has a winner here. Lets just hope they can keep the spammers from using this service. Did anyone notice yet if they provide a blocking option to prevent some people from calling?

Yes, this is indeed awesome, to say the least. Google has an amazing team of super smart and imaginative people. Most everything they dream up is very useful and the best part is, it's free. I'm a big fan, right from gmail to the Android OS :)
