"Poh’s creation tracks the flow of blood on the user’s face using a modified version of open-source facetracking software. Based on this information, the system can figure out the pulse rate and other factors linked to heart performance. The webcam detects blood flow by looking at the colorization on the different parts of the face. Ming-Zher admitted that the hardest part was teaching his system to adapt to different lighting and image quality levels.
