"Despite previously insisting that dedicated servers were not the direction that Infinity Ward was going with upcoming release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, we are hearing that Infinity Ward is doing some serious back pedaling; and at least having discussions about dedicated servers for the PC community, and what it might look like if they were going to do it.
Infinity Ward admits that they are putting a lot more focus on the PC version of MW3 than they have in a long time. While they say it is an effort to build a better experience for PC gamers, we suspect that it also has a lot to do with the upcoming release of Battlefield 3 which was developed for the PC as its primary platform."
Well I rember that I was about to buy MW2 when it was about to come out i saw:
No Dedicated server!
I canceled my per-order and I haven't played COD since to much console for me
the only ok console-port i have tried to BF: BC2 but it took them 1 year to optimize to "Playable" state
now I don't really touch console-ports at all and i never play fps, or Online on my ps3
I'm sure all the bad press with the console hacks is a wakeup call.
A lot more focus needs to be given to the PC, forget the consoles ;)
Don't hold your breath
