"Sony has recently reported sales numbers of its second-generation mobile gaming console, the PlayStation Vita (PSVita), have reached 1.2 million globally, boosted by the recent launch in Americas, Europe and PAL territories on Wednesday, February 22, 2012.

Over the past six days, sales of the console have soared throughout the new launch regions, but Sony has yet to provide specific numbers of its launch-week hardware shipments. Nevertheless, the company is reporting that sales of the PSVita have "exceeded expectations," considering more than 700,000 units were sold in the last two months since CES 2012 in January."
