Google Just Made It Harder to Find Boobs

"Google has tweaked the SafeSearch filter so that porn doesn't leak into image search results... For parents and those who'd rather not be frightened by results stemming from search queries like "cucumber" and "hotdog", SafeSearch is a handy tool for toning down or completely blocking offending sexual and other questionable content. Typically it was easy to set: simply adjust the lever to "on", "moderate" or "off"..."

Amazon Founder Wishes to Open Retail Stores

"Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has expressed his desire for the world's largest online retailer to open its own retail stores. In speaking with CBS News, Bezos addressed the question of Amazon entering the competitive brick-and-mortar industry. "We would love to but only if we can have a truly differentiated idea. We don't do a me-too product offering very well. When I look at physical retail stores, it's very well served. The people who operate physical retail stores are very good at it."

BioWare Makes Dragon Age 3 Official

"The Dragon Age 2 website now features a post from BioWare veteran Mark Darrah that officially acknowledges the development of Dragon Age III: Inquisition.

Little is known about the new sequel thus far, and the studio is currently reluctant to cough up any details. However Darrah said the game is being made by a lot of the same team that has been working on the Dragon Age franchise since the first installment, Dragon Age: Origins, composed of both experienced BioWare veterans and talented new developers.

Analyst: Blocking Used Games Will Mean Retailer Backlash

"GameStop could ban the PlayStation 4 if it blocks the use of pre-owned games.

We already know that publishers and developers despise the second-hand market. They claim they're losing money because these consumers aren't purchasing the pricy, mint copies. Only the retailers are generating revenue from these used games and thus are driving prices of the retail versions upwards.

But some of us on the consumer side say we flock to used versions because new copies are just too damn expensive. We bought the hardware, and we should have the right to play second-hand copies..."

Xbox 360 Controller Mod Dispenses Hot Pockets

"Eating while gaming isn't exactly the easiest thing to do, unless you are playing a game with nauseatingly long cutscenes. You may find yourself getting food all over the place or getting killed the second you decide to set that controller down and take a bite of food. Luckily for anybody who can't seem to find the chance to take a break and eat, master tinkerer Ben Heck made the startling discovery that the top of the Xbox 360 controller seems to contour perfectly to a Hot Pocket."

Japanese Vending Machines Puts Faces in Your Coffee

"If the number of Starbucks stores around the world is an indicator of anything, it's that the people must have their coffee. Some people like their coffee black, others like it with sugar and or creamer, but apparently some people in Japan prefer their coffee with a face staring back at them. At the Yojiya Cafe coffeehouses located throughout Japan, baristas are trained to create an iconic face on the top of customers' coffee. Even more surprising is the fact that there is now a vending machine that does the exact same thing."

William Shatner Temporarily Kicked Off Google+

"They say celebrity endorsement is often the best way to advertise your product and attract new users. However, it seems Google this week accidentally snubbed a celebrity that was trying to check out its newest social venture. William Shatner yesterday complained via his Twitterfeed that he had been booted from Google+ for 'violating standards.'

"My Google+ account was flagged for violating standards," Shatner tweeted. "Saying hello to everyone apparently is against the rules maybe I should say goodbye?"

This Reverse Printer Strips Ink From Your Papers

"In a concept that is sure to save trees as well as your precious money, designer Kim Su Yeon has created a printer that doesn't exactly perform the typical task you would expect of a regular printer. The Ink Remover Printer utilizes laser technology to burn the ink right off of paper, essentially becoming your own personal paper recyclers. This would allow you to use the same pieces of paper dozens of times, assuming the printer doesn't set it on fire."

$999,999 (Fake) Bid for an iPhone 4 Prototype

"An iPhone 4 prototype is already stuff of legend when one was acquired by Gizmodo and then taken apart for the world to see well before Apple's press event. Recently another one appeared on eBay, which quickly gathered enough attention for the bidding to quickly hit the six-figure range."

MySpace Sold for Just $35 Million to Specific Media and Justin Timberlake

"Once hugely popular, MySpace has been struggling to remain relevant for a long time. Sold to News Corp in 2005 for nearly $600 million dollars, the company's fall from grace has been slow but steady. A recent redesign attempted to revitalize the service but, for the most part, the company can't seem to regain its footing. Still, change could be on the horizon as the social network now has a new owner. Specific Media this week announced that it had purchased MySpace for just $35 million. MySpace's previous owner, News Corp, will hold onto a five percent stake in the company.
