Forgot to mention, the new connector on the iPhone 5 would have made all our accessories useless. Since we would have had to buy all new accessories anyway, moving to Android was that much easier for us personally.
Android all the way. Being told and forced to do things one way really gets old. Glad I can customize as much as I like now.
I posted earlier to this thread and stated I had a iPhone 3GS and waited and waited for the iPhone 5, but was underwhelmed with the new iPhone 5. So my wife and I went out and purchased two Samusung Galaxy S3 smartphones instead and like it much more than iPhone. Sure the new iPhone 5 is faster, thinner, has a better camera than my 3GS, but so does my new S3, plus the S3 has features that the iPhone 5 doesn't have. Currently running IceCream Sandwich (Andriod 4.0.4), but waiting for Jellybean next month for the S3. Then will have Android 4.1.1. Can't believe what I had been missing with my iPhone.
I have a Windows Phone 7.5 OS phone and I love it! It's clean, smooth and I can still personalize it. Android and iOS are great too but Windows Phone just suits my taste more. I'm excited about the new Nokia and HTC Windows Phone 8 Phone being released soon.
I don't have a smartphone.
I have an the old android 2.3.4.... Im not to deep into the smart phones but it works for me
Android ICS 4.0.4
I have done both iOS and Android. But, my phone the last two years has been the Samsung Focus with Win7. It has been the only phone I have that does not mess up, ever. It's rock solid and is easier and faster to use than the other two. My Transformer Prime tablet has not done much to win favor for me back to Android. As of now, I plan to get a Win8 phone and tablet this October/November.
LG G2x running Cyanogenmod 7.2 (Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread). I kind of want to sell it and get a Samsung Galaxy S2 or 3. I love Android though.
My phone is retarded ;)
Google all the way! (still using Firefox FTW)
"There are no strippers involved" made me laugh so hard :D
I still have LG cookie, and will have it for 15 more months, with that weird OS. Can't wait to get new smartphone, with Android.
The % shown here for Android isn't shocking and honestly it is expected. I personally use an iPhone, but there is only one iPhone brand (Apple), where as there are so many different phone brands that run Android (HTC, Samsung, Motorola, etc...), so I would expect the % to be that much higher. I don't have anything against Android. It is a good alternative to apple if you aren't an apple type of person. Android does have a larger coverage for it's platform, so a larger Android voting % should be expected.
Android 2.3 on HTC Desire HD :D its awsome
Running Android 4.1.1 JellyBean on my Galaxy S II :D... It's just amazing, it's even better on your Galaxy Nexus though...
i have a nokia lumia 800 with windows phone 7.5 OS
Symbian Belle on my N8.
Its great, very similar to android and has very good multitasking.
There are still people with firmware phones, you should've included that :)
The option is called "Other" :P
Right with you Rodney, Adroid all the way, got the Samsung Galaxy S3 and I'm loven it!!
android ftw
just installed cm9 on my sgs1 today and i'm having a blast
I agree with DeV.
Why do they call those smart phones anyway? This would suggest that users of smart phones are smart too. But Nooo.
A smart user of the phone, might be someone like me. I only have a land-line. When I leave, I leave the phone behind, where it belongs. When I am away from home, I am away from phone.... ahhhh, such is bliss.
Not sure why you or DeV are bothering to post in this thread when it is clearly targeted to folks that do own & use cell phones or their more powerful siblings - smartphones.
Note that there are some of us that MUST be available 24/7.
Also what would you do if one of your family members was in a car accident and was trying to reach out to you to you while you were away from your land line? You come back home 4 hours later to find he/she was carted off to the hospital in critical condition. After you finally get the message you find out they died half an hour before.
Morbid I know, and hope you never have to face that kind of thing, but sometimes there are really good reasons to be reachable even when you are away from home.
Would be cool to have option "don't own smartphone"
Android FTW. I have a HTC Wildfire with Froyo 2.2, but I have a Sumvision Astro+ 7" Tablet with ICS.
