Yea, probably has to with the RAID adapter firmware and drivers. Maybe once they are updated it will improve.

What slot was the raid card installed into? 16x, 8x or 4x?

The problem with RAID and SSD is that you lose TRIM support. From what I have read we are still waiting for Intel and AMD to support/fix it. If you have information contrary to this please share it.

hhmmm I could have sworn I saw someone posted in a forum RAID 0 2x RealSSD and get 500ish mb/s for read with CrystalDiskMark.

Really, if so I'd be interested to know how many drives the used and what RAID adapter.

Sorry I forgot to log in for my previous comment.
I can't find the link about the guy who reach 500ish mb/s read speed.
But I remember he said RAID 0 in SATA II, not SATA III. He mentioned RAID 0 SATA III the speed is the same as 1 drive, as in no benefit for RAID 0 in SATA III for RealSSD.
