A few years ago I switched on one of these Cathode lights and from the converter to the light the wire turned orange with FIRE! And even more scary I was in a protected room with Halon Gas. From that day on I no longer trust them and only use LED light kits.

True! But the only thing I would suggest on this more would be to only get the cheapo converters! The Lamptron 4 and 8 versions stink!!!! Look great but work bad lol. You or should say anyone could bye the little ones that most offer with the cathodes and then got to like radio shack and get a project box to tighty things up if anyone wants a clean look
Pretty cool in my opinion, would really help people that like to tinker with computers and making them not have to worry about AC/DC. I may just pick one up.
