I had to uninstall it on my pc. I couldnt stomach the tablet feel of it. I did read thought that you will be able to run it like win7 with a simple registery change.
i saw they posted up some benchmarking chart that windows 8 will increase performance by a lot
You can actually upgrade to Windows 8 for $39.99..
I have a question.
When Windows 8 comes out is it going to be worth switching too from Windows 7?
It all depends on you , if you like it go for it , if you don't... . Windows 8 won't have a lot off technical changes , it will have more visual changes.
I am really not sure if I understand all the details. I guess I have to learn more. Thanks for your work. accommodation for the holidays
Personally I just can't stomach Windows 8. Vista I was fine with. Same with Windows 7. But I sure a stink am NOT alright with Windows 8. IMHO that metro interface simply sucks turds. To me, I don't care what whiz-bang features they have under the hood. But if they think I want my PC to work like a pad or cellphone, sorry guys, not this boy. As it stands today if they want me to let go of my Win7 DVD, they will have to pry it from my cold dead hands. Looks like I will be running my Win 7 Ultimate for the foreseeable future.

On a positive note I have heard that M$ will be offering Win 8 upgrades for $40 US. I will believe that when I see it.
Please tell me why I would need windows 8 on my desktop pc? I have only just got windows 7 64bit Ultimate running reliably, I don't want to go through the next 3 years messing about again for no reason. Help me out here if i have missed some killer feature of Windows 8. Warmest regards.
Well , windows 8 is just a bit faster then windows 7 from what i seen, and it has that weird metro interface, no more start menu, only those 2 things are different, you can search on Google for more info.
There's a fair bit of misinformation about windows 8. I heard there is not going to be a retail copy just an oem version. So if we upgrade the motherboard on our current pc, then the key is no longer good and we need to purchase another copy of the os or at the least purchase another key. Is that correct? ... and Rodney talks about saving our money, a few other sites are saying it should be much cheaper then windows 7... and what about an upgrade version so we can go from windows 7 to 8 seamlessly is that possible?
I uesd a bit windows 8 preview but i downgraded to windows 7 , i dont say i don't like it but ehhh.... , anyway maybe i'll upgrade again when the official version comes out but until then windows 7 is best, and mabye after that too.
I think that they might follow with what they did for Windows 7 and start having a timebomb where the system keeps shutting down after a couple of hours, maybe around April 2013. Also, Microsoft said that those who are using the Windows 8 Release Preview or have been using it, will be able to get a copy of Windows 8 for $40 during January 2013.
Microsoft announced that Windows 8 will only feature four editions, only two of which will be sold at retail so it won't be as much of a mess as Windows 7 or Vista.
