The Antec Soundscience Rockus 3D/2.1 Speaker System has excellent build quality, clear highs & mids, deep bass, lots of inputs and won't break the bank. It's 150W in total, 25W for each satellite speaker & 100W for the subwoofer & the frequency response is 10Hz-20kHz. So it with fill a small to medium sized room and meets most listening needs. Bang for the buck, this is one of the best 2.1 speaker systems around.

I wonder how these would compare to Klipsch Promedia 2.1s?
I have my doubts that this system would even be compare-able with Klipsh Promedia 2.1's. For that much money I would probably steer clear of these. All that virtual surround stuff is 90% marketing anyway. And no headphone jack? What's up with that?
This is speaker is no match for my Logitech Z-5500
Meh... pass. I can't believe Antec's making speakers though! I wish Logitech made computer cases. :(

Um... Rodney, in order for the sound demonstration to work, you'll need 5 condensor microphones placed all over the room near the wall
Besides, what I'm listening to only limits what my speaker can do as I have my computer connected to my HT receiver via 3 3.5mm to 6 RCA cable.
Well, now we know what Rodney jams to xD
To be honest though, I'll just stick to headphones. Maybe one day I'll go extremely overkill with a floor speaker setup of which they'd be tall enough to touch the ceiling of my bedroom, and of course rattle the entire house with the addition of a humongous subwoofer.
Looks sweet, but $250? And down to 10Hz frequency response sounds a little optimistic...

I've recently bought a 2.1 system, the Logitech Z323 I like it very much and it's got one heck of a sound and build quality especially for £35 but that antec one looks perfect.
what about Bose Companion 5 ? is this better ?

The Bose one would probably be better, but Bose products are very expensive.
My Bose Wave Radio II was $550 (AUD), it was worth it though, that little thing sounds amazing.
I've actually listened to the Bose Companion 5 2.1 Speaker System at Costco and it's sound excellent as well, but my money would be on the Antec Soundscience Rockus 3D/2.1 Speaker System. And remember, the Bose Companion 5 2.1 Speaker System is double the price of the Antec Soundscience Rockus 3D/2.1 Speaker System.

No, 5.1 or 7.1 is completely different. This is at it's core a 3.1 speaker system, but has a 3D sst technology that gives the surround 3D effect.

A sub is not a sub if it does not pump up a lot of bass like an earthquake. :D
