If you need an affordable laptop with decent specs, the Toshiba Satellite C650D-007 15.6" Laptop might just be it. With an AMD E-350 dual core 1.6GHz processor, ATI HD 6310 graphics, 320GB HDD and 3GB of memory it will do all basic taks very well. NOTE: Upgrading the HDD to a SSD and memory to 8GB would turn this average laptop into something really special!
Hello..I heard this could play
World of war craft and fallout 3.. Is that true?
would this laptop be able to run world of warcraft smoothly?
One thing I noticed in addition to all of the above stated is that it's too slow. I mean slower than my refurbished pentium 4 IBM that was the slowest I'd ever used.
I think I have read a better review, a little more in depth perhaps?

Toshiba Satellite C650D Review
Perfection and Design. That almost perfectly describes this customizable Satellite from Toshiba. Premium quality and affordable pricing, all rolled together into one impressive laptop.
I bought this for 249 CND when it was on sale at Futureshop. I admit this was a steal. However, I had to return after just two days.
Everything on the surface is great: good design, production quality, ok CPU performance and excellent GPU. But it does not support hardware virtualization, which is a must for me. The CPU AMD E-350 does support virtualization. But Toshiba, for whatever reason, disabled it in BIOS and provided no way to enable it. I called Toshiba support, which was a complete waste of time. The guy didn't even know what I was talking about. So I sent it back to the store and got myself a HP with the same CPU and a properly written BIOS supporting virtualization.
So if you do need hardware virtualization, you should be aware of this. You may wait for a BIOS update from Toshiba but I wont hold my breath. Toshiba have shown their incompetence again and again. I wont buy a Toshiba in my life again.
100% KICKASS LOVE IT..!!! CAN YOU GIVE IT TO ME BECAUSE I DONT HAVE ANY LAPTOP?
I'll have to say for a Toshiba, this isn't bad. I'm more for Mac, but that's just a preference. I like the fact that it has a tactile feel to it, not the regular gloss that will smudge up the first time you touch it, and I also like that because God forbid you work out in the cold and you have to worry about the laptop slipping from your grip when typing.
i'd go with an asus
I dont really like Toshiba. They put way too much bloatware on their laptops
Well, this particular laptop doesn't have a lot compared to other companies, which is great.
I will NEVER buy another Toshiba product again. My original Satellite was crap, hinge broke on it soon after a year of owning it. The Toshiba 46" DLP I bought burned through bulbs like mad. There was even a class action suit related to the bulbs on this TV and Toshiba did not stand behind my product.
Poor customer service, lousy product quality and durability... Toshiba will NEVER sell me another product as long as I live.
what got you started doing notebook reviews, I like these reviews because I am going into college next year and I will be in the market for a notebook. Keep up the great notebook reviews
Great little computer. I have a Toshiba my self, but that is a Satellite L500 with a Intel Core 2 Duo M T6500 and a great ATi Radeon HD4570. It runs Mafia 2 on Medium :O. I love Toshiba cause of: Running cool, reliable and kind of cheap. :)
Great review, Rodney! Keep It up!
Not great, I suppose if you did not want it to do much......I mean AMD? Not fast, not powerful. Why would anyone build a laptop sub 2ghz anymore? It is worth saving longer, and getting a better machine.
thanks for the review , i like it to the non-glossy finger texture.
never buy toshiba! heat problems instant, worst pc's i know, maybe this is better, i dont know. great review though =)
If it has only 3Gb of memmory, and i supose its DDR3 1066, why does it come with a 64bit OS? The 32bit should do better... i think.
Anyway, its still better than any MAC...
Yea, it comes with 3GB of DDR3 1066 but you can install up to 8GB. Thus the 64bit version will come in hand if you upgrade, which I'll be doing ;)
You mean Kengsington lock
Yea, but it's actually it's Kensington (not Kengsington). I'll fix and upload again. BTW: Thx for spotting that :)
lol, yes that's what i meant :P
