The Logitech HD Pro Webcam C510 is a middle of the road HD webcam. It sits between the C310 and the C910. It's a little better than the C310, but not quite as good as the C910. That being said this is a very capable webcam. As a matter of fact, for the money this is probably one of the best HD webcams out there.

Hi Rodney, I just saw your video review on YouTube, it was really helpful.
I'm now deciding between this camera and the Microsoft HD-6000...
I read that the Microsoft one has autofocus, the most noticeable difference between the two, but some users said it was somewhat annoying, and here in Argentina, the C510 is 20 dollars cheaper than the HD-6000... So i think I'll go with the Logitech one :)
Thanks for the review!

I bought one of these on the strength of your review - and the price!! Its a great little HD webcam.
Brian :)
the new software update fixes the blank help page at startup...logitech is not great at making software :/
Hey Rodney,
I agree that this is a good middle line product- will serve the 'average Joe' quite well. The only thing I noticed that I don't know if it was your computer having a spaz or mine, but when you went to the Logitech camera, the sound quality went down- it was OK, but it was 'jumpy' and a little patchy at times. Please let me know if this was indeed the Logitech cam's microphone so if my sound all the sudden went blargghhh; I need to find to check my sound. :-)
Thanks for another great review
Hey Rodney -
Nice review of the web-cam, it is certainly one I would consider purchasing. I noticed though that the homepage photo for the Logitech Webcam C510 is incorrect and is instead that of the Smartfish Whirl Mini Notebook Laser Mouse.
Also, I am not sure if it is just my monitor but I am having a hard time seeing the details of many of your product reviews due to the contrast between the usually black product being reviewed and the stark white background.
I have professionally cataloged many products for a hobby company and lighting is always difficult and expensive to get the best results. One of my photography professors would use an ordinary king sized bed sheet as a backdrop but he would either tea stain it or crush dye it a very light gray to help with the white balance.
I've really enjoyed your reviews over the years.....keep them coming!
Rodney, this Thu, 04/28/2011 - 07:53 was my post... I thought I was still logged in, but I guess not...
Hey weanus,
Yep, we know about the image issue, but thanks for spotting that. It's nice to have someone looking out.
As for lightening, I do my best with the camera and light I have at hand ;)
Thanks for being a fan, I'm glad you enjoy my stuff :)
In this day and age... having motion blur is absurd IMHO... The tech is there... make it happen manufacturers!
I love the classical "Hello again, I'm Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today I'll be taking a look at the ... " Keep those up! :D
Yea, I brought it back for this very reason. I guess I've said it so much, it's kinda ingrained in peoples brains.
OMG this video was hilarious!
Bang for the buck webcam.
OMG Rodney with the facial hair back effect! I love it. Ha ha, you should really grow your beard back one of these days.
