I recently purchased a headset shortly after seeing this review. I tried to find this headset in Canada and not even the large online retailers had it. What a shame.
I think I wound up with something even better - The MadCatz Tritton AX Pro.
Like the CM Storm headset, these have 4 drivers in each ear as well ( 1 x 23mm center, 2 x 30mm surrounds, 1 x 40mm sub - the small center drivers actually help reach crisper highs) & changeable microfiber or pleather ear/head pads. Also like the CM Storms the ear cans do not have a pivot point at the headband.
The big difference is the inputs. You can use either analog (5.1 connects - not recommmended due to AD/DA conversions) or optical digital. The AX Pros have no USB connection for sound input (the mic is a USB one though). While that seems like a downside, let me tell you that you have not lived until you have heard Dolby Prologic 5.1 surround through an optical TosLink (Optical TosLink SpDif is available on most full motherboards and sound cards). These are 100% digital. There are no digital/analog conversions done either from the sound card unless you use the analog inputs. So there is no loss of signal or clarity. The lack of a USB attachment will be a detriment for laptop users. For laptop use I would certainly look for a USB-based headset.
The little box in the is a Dolby/DTS decoder to split a digitally-encoded data stream from encoded 2-channel into its original discreet 5.1 format.
