Kingston teams up with Rambus on 50% faster DDR3

Kingston has teamed up with Rambus on delivering a new DDR3 prototype, which is a multi-threaded memory module tailored for multi-core computers. The optimization of these modules allegedly resulted in a 50% performance increase compared to the current DDR3 modules.

Furthermore, the companies claim that the power consumption has been lowered by up to 20%, as the new circuitry is much more effective and doesn’t have to be activated as often as the current ones.

The new line of Radeon HD 2000 series cards is available in a number of different models; the 2900XT, 2900Pro, 2600XT, 2600Pro, 2400XT and 2400Pro.
