"According to the reports that we are hearing, the new Medal of Honor has had a good first week run, with the title selling over 1.7+ million copies on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. This means that the title is off to a solid start and it looks to be able to achieve the sales goal of four million units. (As we told you previously, it was revealed that in order for the game to see a sequel, the title would have to sell close to four million copies across the platforms.)" | more
"On Xbox Live and PSN, two Superpowers are fighting it out for supremacy in the online warfare theatre. But which one is winning the battle for new recruits - Battlefield or Call of Duty? Well, in truth, they're not even fighting the same war. Although superficially similar, both series are drastically different once you scratch beneath the surface, and so are the people who enjoy them. Call Of Duty is bold and brash, the shooter of choice for the archetypical frat boy.

Grab your MREs and prepare to spend four days playing two new maps and modes for the multiplayer version of Medal of Honor. Anyone can download and play. All that is required is an EA Account when you launch the game and to accept the beta agreement.
"In the past few months, we have received feedback from all over the world regarding the multiplayer portion of Medal of Honor. We’ve received notes from gamers, active military, and friends and family of servicemen and women currently deployed overseas. The majority of this feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. For this, the Medal of Honor team is deeply appreciative.
He’s back; it’s that Jack Thompson again trying to protect minors from those very bad video games. Someone must have forgot to tell him Medal of Honor is rated M (17+). I figure EA should make a video game about disbarred lawyers but he would probably sue to protect the kids.
With the Medal of Honor multiplayer beta set to be opened to all pre-orderers on PC and PlayStation 3 today, the modern-day shooter revamp's 735MB PC beta client is available now for download from your friendly neighbourhood FileShack.
The beta packs two maps and has support for up to twenty-four players. Those who owned Battlefield: Bad Company 2 in addition to pre-ordering MoH were granted early beta access from Thursday as part of publisher EA's new 'Gun Club' loyalty sceheme. There's still no word on when the delayed Xbox 360 beta will begin, though community manager Matt Pruitt notes in a Battlefield Blog post that "We are still working feverishly to get the Xbox 360 beta released and will keep all of you up-to-date on that."
Medal of Honor is headed to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 release on October 12, with singleplayer by Medal of Honor Airborne developer EA Los Angeles built in Unreal Engine 3 and multiplayer by Bad Company 2 dev DICE in its own Frostbite engine.

Medal of Honor's multiplayer is on show in the modern-day shooter revamp's E3 2010 trailer, showing the two maps its multiplayer beta will offer when it begins this week.
Pre-ordering nets you access to the multiplayer beta on June 21, though you can play from this Thursday if you also own Bad Company 2. EA's new Gun Club loyalty program will also give BC2 owners early access to MoH's M24 sniper rifle in the full version.
With singleplayer by EA Los Angeles and multiplayer by Battlefield: Bad Company 2 dev DICE, Medal of Honor is due to hit PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 12.
With the runaway success of Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare franchise, it should come as no surprise to find that other top FPS developers want to create their own interpretations of current combat while hoping to make a dent in Infinity Ward's crown. EA is hoping to create the next great modern-day shooter as it brings the formerly past-focused Medal of Honor franchise to present-day Afghanistan.
