The PALiT GTX 470 1280MB GDDR5 Video Card is loaded with technologies; NVIDIA PhysX, 3D Vision, 3D Vision Surround, CUDA, 3-way NVIDIA SLI Technology, DirectX 11 support and more. The core speed is 607MHz, the Shader Clock is 1215MHz and the 1280MBs of GDDR5 320 bit memory is 3350MHz DDR. It comes with 448 CUDA cores, 56 texture units and 40 raster operators. The texture fillrate is 34 Gtexels/s, pixel fillrate is 24.3 GTexels/s and the memory bandwidth is 134GB/s.
Nvidia fired back at AMD's earlier accusations that it was bribing developers to use its proprietary PhysX technology. Ashutosh Rege, the worldwide director of developer technology at Nvidia, said that the company does provide help to developers who want to implement physics into their games using Nvidia's middleware.
As AMD announced the next step of its Open Physics Initiative today, the company also hit out at Nvidia’s PhysX technology, saying that most game developers only use it for the money.
Speaking to THINQ, AMD’s senior manager of developer relations, Richard Huddy, said: “What I’ve seen with physics, or PhysX rather, is that Nvidia create a marketing deal with a title, and then as part of that marketing deal, they have the right to go in and implement PhysX in the game.”

There is a rather lively discussion in our forums about NVIDIA’s recent decision to disable PhysX when an ATI card is present in your system. Nvidia supports GPU accelerated Physx on NVIDIA GPUs while using NVIDIA GPUs for graphics. NVIDIA performs extensive Engineering, Development, and QA work that makes Physx a great experience for customers. For a variety of reasons - some development expense some quality assurance and some business reasons NVIDIA will not support GPU accelerated Physx with NVIDIA GPUs while GPU rendering is happening on non- NVIDIA GPUs.
