#95 - JVC Everio GZ-HM300BUS HD SDHC Camcorder Unboxing and Mini Review

The JVC Everio GZ-HM300BUS HD SDHC Camcorder might be small and affordable, but it's very impressive. It's has a dual SD card slot, Advanced Image Stabilizer, 20x optical zoom, Konica Minolta HD Lens, Face Detection, 2.7" wide LCD,  USB2.0, HDMI and much more. Along with the unboxing, I take a closer look and do some shooting outside.

Can you buy a fish eye for filming skateboarding?

Is this camera compatible with macs and imovie 09? I really would like to buy it but I'm worried because I heard it records as AVCHD and imovie may not support it?

What did you use to film the unboxing of it?

#95 - JVC Everio GZ-HM300BUS HD SDHC Camcorder Un-boxing and Mini Review....What SD card did you use in the Camcorder, i ask because the quality depends on the Type and class of the card used..I purchased a San disk Extreme Class 10 (1) SD card, what do you think?

Looks good copes with the lgiht changes very well though it does seem to blur more than other cameras

I did some research on this and found it may be what SD card OR Class you use, so with everything i looked at, i recommend a SanDisk Extreme 16 GB SDHC Class 10 UHS-1 Flash Memory Card 45MB/s SDSDX-016G-X46 and or the PRO Version. If this dose not cut down drastically of the bluer, then it may be the Camcorder.

Does it not have a microphone jack?

No, it doesn't have a mic jack, which is not surprising for an inexpensive product like this?

Is there a chance you can do a future review or Q&A using the JVC Everio as an example of the video quality?

will you let us know if you could do a comparison of this camera and your other camera? Maybe do a product review comparison. Set up your normal review and go over a previous product to show the quality of the two. maybe side by side images?

Thanks. Sorry for giving you a hard time about the last Q&A video. I do appreciate your reviews.

The video quality is overall pretty good but the camera is weak on dark surfaces. You can see that the dark parts of eg. the tree have no structure at all. It's like you've completle turned off the light in that area.
However, the lighted scenes are pretty good and the light-to-dark-scene at 6:57 is pretty good. the camera ajusts fast so that the video is not too dark and it also gets the right settings so that the light is not too bright and the dark spots are not that many.

Looks like a really nice video/Still Camera, I currently have a Canon FS100, I got on sale last year, and it's only an SD camcorder/Still Camera, but I have been really liking it, except for the fact it records in .MOD format, which is a pain to convert at times, I am wondering what format this camcorder uses??

This camcorder uses the .MTS format, so no conversion issues and can view direct in Windows 7 with installing any special software :)

Was that little girl your daughter :)?

Oh and the video quality is great for such a small device! The zoom is amazing, so is the focus. I wonder how it costs in Canada though. Does anyone know?

Déjà vu...I recently won one of the Everio camcorders from a contest a few weeks ago except it's the GZ-MG750. This model does not shoot in 1080p but it does have an internal 80GB hard drive.

For 1080p, does it record at 30 fps or 60 fps? I currently have Kodak Zi8 and it can only record at 30 fps for 1080p.
